Instagram Records Your Every Move: Are We Really Surprised?

Today, I just learned that you can view your previous account data such as your past names, biographies, passwords and associated emails. But, what I did not know is that you can view some of your interactions with other accounts on Instagram. “Stories Activity” shows you the accounts whose stories you have interacted with in the past, and the time at which you reacted to the polls or questions.

I am not surprised that Instagram tracks my every swipe, like, save and tap on this app. Personally, I think that the tracking of interactions helps make the user experience better. With this data, Instagram can help cater the explore page, and your timeline to your liking depending on what you seem to be gravitated to. This is yet another tactic to capture our attention. However, another question we should ask is; Is Instagram too good at catering to us, thus making it too difficult to stop scrolling?
